I-275 Reconstruction Tampa, FDOT District 7, HSD Subcontract total – $23,970,000, HSD is subcontractor to the Skanska/Ajax JV on this Parsons Brinckerhoff designed project through downtown Tampa, Florida. HSD is performing the installation of all lighting, signing, signal and ITS on this project. Further, HSD has worked with Skanska/Ajax and PB to develop an efficient, maintainable and constructible design.

I-95 ITS Deployment, Northern 3 Counties, FDOT District 4, Contract total – $23,567,000, HSD was the Prime Contractor for this design-build project for the deployment of a ITS Freeway Management System on 71 miles of I-95 in FDOT D4. The work included design, installation, integration, testing, and maintenance of the following ITS subsystems:

  • Fiber optic communications,
  • Electrical power,
  • Closed circuit television (CCTV) camera,
  • Dynamic message sign (DMS),
  • Vehicle detection,
  • Voice over IP (VoIP),
  • Road Weather Information System (RWIS) and,
  • Highway advisory radio (HAR) subsystem.

I-75 Pasco County ITS Deployment, FDOT District 7, Contract Total: $4,600,000 – HSD served as Prime Contractor for the design and installation of an ITS deployment along I-75 in Pasco County, Florida. The system is comprised of multiple ITS features including Dynamic Message Signs, CCTV cameras and vehicle detectors. In addition to the design and construction tasks, HSD was responsible for configuring and integrating this ITS system into the FDOT’s SunGuide software system.

Reconstruction of US 98 and SR 60 Intersection, FDOT D1, Subcontract Total: $1,300,000 – HSD was subcontractor to Cone & Graham, Inc., performing the specialty contracting work on this project. HSD’s scope included the lighting, signing and signalization. This project included improvements to three (3) intersections around the very heavily trafficked intersection of US 98 and SR 60 in Bartow, Florida.

Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River Counties, Design Build I-95 ITS Deployment, Contract total – $23,687,512.26, This project includes the Design, Installation and Integration of 73 miles of ITS infrastructure for FDOT District 4 along I-95 through Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River Counties.  The work includes the design and implementation of conduit, fiber optic cable, Ethernet communications network, CCTV Cameras, DMS, Microwave detectors, VoIP communications, Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) and a Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS) Subsystem.  Additionally included are improvements to both the Ft. Lauderdale TMC and the Treasure Coast Operations Center.

Design Build Managee County ATMS System – Phase 1 Deployment, Contract value – $9,781,654.70.  HSD was the Prime Contractor for this ITS project which included all Design/Build services required to furnish and install a functioning Ethernet communications ATMS for Manatee County.  It includes conduit, fiber backbone, Ethernet switches, field hubs, traffic signal controllers and cabinets, closed circuit TV cameras and the construction of Manatee County’s Traffic Management Center.

ITS Deployment on 1-275 from Toll Plaza at Southern end of Skyway Bridge to 1-75, Contract value – $4,041,236.00.  HSD was the Prime Contractor, the ITS work under this contract consisted of ITS system for FDOT District 7’s SunGuide Freeway Management System on 1-275 in Manatee County. The system includes 175,000 LF conduit, pull boxes, 50,000 LF of fiber optic cable, 8 cameras, poles, detectors cabinets, concrete foundations, microwave radar detectors, 3M micro loops traffic sensors, and 9 dynamic message signs. Scope includes testing and integration of these devices.

Osceola County, Countywide ATMS Deployment Phase 3 -Design Build, Contract value – $3,330,315.00.  HSD was the Prime Contractor for this Design Build ITS project, which included design and construction services required to furnish and install Phase 3 of an Automated Traffic Management System for Osceola County. It included 128,000 LF of conduit, 170,000 LF fiber backbone, 42 Ethernet switches, 1 field hubs, 16 traffic signal controllers and cabinets, 4 Dynamic Message Signs, 35 closed circuit TV cameras and integration of these devices to provide a fully functioning ATMS project.

Orange County ITS Deployment, US 19, Contract value – $1,993,000.00. HSD is the Prime Contractor for this ITS Project.  Work under this contract consists of furnishing and installing ITS equipment for the FDOT & Pinellas County and the City of St. Petersburg on US 19 in Pinellas County. This ITS system allows for the monitoring and maintaining of traffic along the 1-275 corridor. The system includes conduit, pull boxes, fiber optic cable, cameras, poles, detectors cabinets, concrete foundations, microwave radar detectors, dynamic message signs and overhead signs. Scope includes testing and integration of these devices.

Hillsborough County ITS Deployment on 1-275, North of Tampa, Contract value – $5,001,000.00. HSD is the primary specialty subcontractor to Prince Contracting on this FDOT project in District 7. The work includes lighting, signing and ITS scopes. The ITS work under this contract consists of the deployment of ITS systems on 1-275 in north Tampa. The system includes conduit, pull boxes, fiber optic cable, cameras, poles, cabinets, concrete foundations, microwave radar detectors and dynamic message signs. Scope includes testing and integration of these devices.

Pasco County ITS Deployment on 1-75 from SR 56 to SR 54, Contract value – $3,685,000. HSD was the Prime Contractor on this Design Build. The ITS work under this contract consists of the Design and Deployment of ITS systems for FDOT District 7’s SunGuide Freeway Management System on 1-75 in Pasco County. The system includes conduit, pull boxes, fiber optic cable, cameras, poles, cabinets, wireless communications links, microwave radar detectors and dynamic message signs. Scope includes testing and integration of these devices.

Lee County 1-75 Airport Access Road including ITS Deployment on 1-75, Contract value – $7,345,000.  HSD is the subcontractor for this ITS work under this contract consists of the reconstruction of the existing ITS infrastructure on 1-75 for the 1-75 & Airport Access Road Interchange Project in Lee County. The system includes conduit, pull boxes, fiber optic cable, cameras, poles, cabinets, wireless communications links, microwave radar detectors and dynamic message signs. Scope includes testing and integration of these devices.
